Sally is a well established and renowned professional piano teacher. She is known for her innovative and forward thinking approaches to piano teaching. She believes that at the heart of all music making is the development of the ear and her teaching at all levels is founded on this principle. Sally has carried out ground breaking research into developing the complete pianist and has presented her findings at conferences and universities around the world. This includes the Incorporated Society of Musicians recent conference in London, the World Piano Pedagogy Conference in America and the Universities of Pretoria and Stellenbosch in South Africa. Sally was awarded a Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowship in 2005 which enabled her to visit various countries to study their approaches to teaching the piano. She enjoys teaching both beginners and advanced students and all lessons are full of laughter and real engagement with the music - whatever its style. Sally is a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians and the European Piano Teacher's Association (UK) and is a Principal Tutor on its Practical Piano Teaching Course. The Oxford Piano Group, www.theoxfordpianogroup.co.uk,provides monthly opportunities for adults of all levels to deepen their musical awareness, develop their performing confidence and broaden their musical knowledge and understanding. Each 2 hour session is held at the lovely Jaqueline du Pre Building in central Oxford. More information can be found on the Oxford Piano Group website.
