Notes: I teach on a one-to-one basis in the student's own home and offer a FREE, no-obligation initial consultation where I will come and talk to you in more detail about taking lessons with me.

My degree is in classical music but I am also a professional jazz pianist and specialise in this area. I teach classical, jazz, blues and pop/rock styles.

Jazz theory and harmony is also offered along with non instrument-specific improvisation tuition.

ABRSM exams are available but some people will want to play simply for fun and that's fine.

I teach all ages and adults are particularly welcome. Don't worry, I know how intimidating it can be if you are about to start music lessons as an adult - but don't be scared, you'll love it!

I always try to tailor my lessons to meet the needs and interests of the particular pupil - if you want to learn boogie-woogie, there's not much point forcing you to learn Bach inventions!

In my teaching career I have worked as a peripatetic teacher for the county council, taught in private music schools, taught individals privately and have tutored jazz workshops.

I perform regularly in a variety of situations and recent work has included performing on a P&O cruise ship.
