Teaching Aim – to provide students with good drumming technique, the ability to read drum music (traditional 5-line stave notation and drum charts), and a broad knowledge of pop and rock songs used in cover/function bands today., , My teaching is based on the ‘Complete Learn to Play Drums Manual’ book (by Craig Laritsen), which covers drumming from the very basics up to a good level of complexity, covering technique and written exercises. I also teach a variety of pop and rock songs, from compilation CDs which I provide, with the aim of putting the exercises learnt in the book into a musical context, and having fun!, , Beginners level songs - , , Kashmir (Led Zeppelin) , Billie Jean (Michael Jackson), We Will Rock You (Queen) , Another One Bites The Dust (Queen), Every Breath You Take (The Police) , Boulevard of Broken Dreams (Green Day) , How You Remind Me (Nickelback), So Far Away (Dire Straits), A View to a Kill (Duran Duran), Beautiful Day (U2) , D’Yer Mak’er (Led Zeppelin), , , , INTERMEDIATE LEVEL TUITION, , Intermediate level students would continue with the same book, working through Section 3 (16th notes) and Section 5 (triplets). I have found 45 minutes to be the right length for a one-to-one lesson, and I charge £70 for 4 lessons, paid by cheque on the first of each four.
