After receiving a teaching qualification from Manchester Polytechnic in 1988, I joined the Music Department of Poynton County High School, Cheshire, where I stayed until December 1997. Since that time, I have worked as a freelance composer and supply teacher, undertaking various projects at a number of schools. I have the following musical qualifications: B.Mus.(Hons.),F.T.C.L.,P.G.C.E.,Diploma in Music Technology I am able to teach Music at all levels,particularly at KS3,GCSE and AS/A Levels. I can offer tuition in theory, history, general music appreciation with specialisms in composition, arranging and music technology. With regard to music technology, I am familiar with CUBASIS and SIBELIUS software programs. I am interested in undertaking short or long term projects/workshops in Primary and Secondary Schools, involving composition, improvisation and performance. This can include halfday or fullday sessions if required. I am able to undertake commissions for original compositions and/or arrangements, suitable for school, amateur or professional use, in any style or medium. Professionally-printed scores and parts are available at competitive rates,using SIBELIUS 4 software. I can also supply information worksheets for schools on a variety of topics, assessment tests and examination papers from KS3 to GCSE and A Level. I can offer a private 1-year GCSE Music course, as well as a 1-Year AS course & A2 course, covering all aspects of study(EdExcel and/or AQA exam boards).
