Violin, Viola Classical, traditional Northumbrian and worldwide folk music., , I think that the enjoyment of music and playing is paramount. I play both folk/traditional, classical music, and world music. I teach using a variety of techniques which seek to install a sense of rhythm and musicality in the pupil, not just straight theory/grades based. I am very interested in new approaches to music teaching which utilise different techniques and ideas, and am taking ABRSM courses in teaching methods to ensure my skills are as up to date as they can possibly be., , I am also a member of the European String Teacher's Association.
