Welcomes all ages and abilities - for graded examinations or just for fun! Everyone is different, and lessons will be structured according to your individual needs. Some may wish to learn at a steady pace (simply for relaxation and enjoyment), whilst others may desire more intensive training. Rachel believes in the importance of having a solid foundation and therefore technical instruction plays a key part. Other essential elements are taught, of course, such as music history, music theory, aural. Memorization of pieces is encouraged to improve aural/listening skills. Students are given opportunity to perform in music festivals and concerts (highly beneficial since students also hear others play, and receive feedback/marks about their own playing from distinguished musicians/ adjudicators)., , Practical exams are optional (Rachel advises students enter for Grade 5 and Grade 8 but leave out the grades in between [since grades 1-8 do not demand much from students and they should know far more than the exam requirements. guitar I teach electric guitar where I cover many styles and techniques. I have a large collection of exercises that introduce the student to new styles and give them a basic understanding of them. I teach lead and rhythm guitar and also the area where they cross over. I teach my students guitar techniques they will actually find a use for., I teach from home in my studio where I have everything I need. Each lesson the student receives a set of printed notes for their "homework" aloYou do not have to read music to have lessons but if you want to I can teach you that too. My lessons involve some music theory as and when the techniques involved demand it., If a student wants to work on one particular aspect of technique or theory we can do that. No two students are the same - I tailor each lesson to the student's needs.
