The London Philharmonic Orchestra has long established a high reputation for its versatility and artistic excellence. These are evident from its performances in the concert hall and opera house, its many award-winning recordings, its trail-blazing international tours and its pioneering education work.
Kurt Masur has been the Orchestra's Principal Conductor since September 2000, extending the line of distinguished conductors who have held positions with the Orchestra since its foundation in 1932 by Sir Thomas Beecham. Vladimir Jurowski was appointed the Orchestra's Principal Guest Conductor in March 2003.
The London Philharmonic Orchestra has been resident symphony orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall since 1992 and there it presents its main series of concerts between September and May each year. |

Natural Acoustics is a Glasgow based company specializing in professional, high quality natural sounding recordings. Particularly working with acoustic performers for example: orchestras, jazz bands, swing bands, choirs, quartets and solo musicians.
Using naturally ambient spaces like a Church or Cathedral ensures very little post production (artificial reverb / compression) is required. The result is a recording which sounds as natural as if you were standing in the room during the original performance.
The recording techniques are centered around the careful placement of a single stereo pair of very high quality microphones.
Using this method results in recordings that are not only true to the original performance but also allows the musicians to play together as musicians, that is to say the moment and the feeling is captured as well. |
