I usually advise waiting until the age of about ten before starting lessons on the clarinet and saxophone as these instruments are relatively large and heavy. A consultation lesson is advised before committing to regular lessons. By prior negotiation, for a student's very first lesson (and only for the very first lesson) I will provide an instrument for a complete beginner to try out, so that we may accurately assess whether the instrument is going to be manageable. A mileage charge for home visits is negotiated and is in addition to published prices. Enhanced CRB Clearance. Full membership of the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
