Notes:

Qualified from Kingston University in 2001.
Passed QTS in 2007 therefore have experience as a classroom teacher (which is hugely useful in private tutoring).

My lessons are always aimed at bringing the joy of playing the piano or flute to my students. Although focused helping the players achieve their ABRSM grade examinations the primary aim is for them to understand how to play the "music behind the notes". This means that developing one's performance skills is encouraged throughout the learning process as an equal part of learning the technical aspects of the instrument.

Lessons are tailored to my students' needs and wishes and overall aims or goals are usually adapted to with ease.

Additionally, I have high expectations of my students as I have had a 100% pass rate thus far; my students are encouraged to practice regularly and efficiently using my own new practice regime so to achieve a good level of understanding of their instrument and confidence in performing their pieces, whether exam or not, in any environment.

I am teaching more from my home, currently, which means there may be more possibility for taking on additional students. I do still travel to students houses but it is more restricted to family time commitments.

I operate terms and conditions for my employment as a music tutor which must be read, understood and signed by all my clients. Email me for more information or visit my website, as below:
