Teaching instrumental music at my home since 2003, I specialise in patient encouragement of music-making. I particularly enjoy teaching beginners of any age and have experience of teaching children of 5 - adults up to 85+ either just for fun or also to prepare for ABRSM or Rockschool exams (up to Grade 5). I also teach fun music classes (at cheaper rates than individual tuition!) for 1 - 3 year olds (with a parent), 3 - 5 year olds and for 5 - 8 year olds. These teach general musical skills that support school music classwork (including ensemble composition) as well as giving them a good foundation for later instrumental or singing lessons. The class for the older children also includes music theory and learning to read standard notation.
