My aim as a vocal tutor is to ensure my students enjoy singing and are confident singers. I teach the importance of vocal warm-ups and technique, and look how we can apply technique to repertoire. I use backing tracks, although guitarists and pianists are welcome, and encouraged to accompany themselves if they wish (I have a piano). As part of my teaching material I use the Rock School books. Rock School books contain a step by step approach to pop repertoire and aural skills. There are 8 Rock School exam grades which students can work towards, but I put no pressure on students to take exams if they do not wish to do so.
