Having studied Piano, Clarinet, Composition and Electronic Music/Recording at Trinity College of Music, Carol now has over 25yrs experience teaching students of all ages, both privately and as an independent peripatetic teacher in various schools. Since 1994, she has taught piano at the Loughton Valley Arts Centre in Milton Keynes.
Both young and not so young will find her manner friendly, patient and encouraging. She is passionate about promoting high quality musicianship and helping you gain success with your music making at all levels.
Should you wish to take exams in classical music styles, she will confidently prepare you according to the ABRSM or Trinity Guildhall grade syllabus as required. Aside from taking exams however, Carol believes that playing an instrument should be primarily for enjoyment, to build confidence and personal satisfaction. She therefore encourages students to perform in concerts and festivals as and when opportunities arise.
Theory of music is included in all instrument lessons or can be learned separately. Carol also offers coaching towards other certificates and awards such as GCSE Music and Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Carol is fully CRB checked and public indemnity insured.
