I was an opera singer for over 10 years, working nationally and internationally before becoming an opera conductor. I currently work for English National Opera, Royal Opera House, and Opera Holland Park.

I hold teaching positions at Wellington College, and St Benedict's School.
I mentor organ and choral scholars at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge - acting as vocal coach, conducting teacher, and giving masterclasses.
I teach privately in W7, W5, W13, W3 and beyond.
DBS certified.

SINGING
I teach a solid classical vocal technique, which allows students to sing in a variety of styles. Students will gain an understanding of an holistic vocal physiology - breath, resonance, and freedom of jaw and tongue. I studied with David Pollard, Enid Hartle and Russell Smythe.
I am very experienced in teaching adults and teenagers, having prepared students for Trinity Guildhall and Associated Board exams, conservatoire entry, choral scholarships, recitals, and productions.

VOCAL REPERTOIRE COACHING
I coach advanced students and professionals on repertoire choices, and on the musical, dramatic, and emotional detail of their roles, songs and arias. Emphasis is on character intention informing the musical detail.

CONDUCTING
As a successful conductor, I teach students the physicality of conducting, and how best to become the music, how to create different sounds and timbres, and how to be clear for your ensemble - be it an orchestra or choir. Lessons can also include score analysis if desired.

PIANO
I trained with Raymond Fischer and Alan Rowlands at Cambridge and Royal College of Music. Students will gain a free technique, and intermediate and advanced students will focus on drawing the music from their pieces. I have experience of teaching ABRSM to grade 8.
