I am a very committed person and very passionate about teaching. I feel I work very well with children. I have in past teaching experiences interacted really well with them and gained from their learning aswell. As I am a younger teacher I feel that I can relate more to what the styles of music the children like and try to make learning as enjoyable as possible whilst sneaking all the music theory in as well.
The ideas for the areas of teaching to include:
Ø Sight reading
Ø Music theory
Ø Technical development (Techniques, scales, arpeggios etc...)
Ø Composition and Arrangement
Ø History of music
Ø Practical musicianship
My specific thoughts and I ideas on the lessons will be to focus on current music genres gaining the attention of the students i.e. Green Day ‘Boulevard of broken dreams’ will have interest that an old jazz standard, unless jazz is the students thing. With my lessons I make music theory and sight reading more relevant by analyzing the make up of the songs they want to learn. From this I construct lessons on technical development and composition studies. My lessons are all professionally typed up on a word processing computer program and music and musical examples are all typed up on Sibelius. |
