Y O U R V O I C E:

I teach in styles as above, but also regardless of style, with a set of CREATIVE, inspirational and fresh means that are relevant to anyone wanting to express themselves through singing and voice use within ANY style of music.

My approach to the voice and to singing is from seeing the voice as part of an organic WHOLE instrument; the body, the mind and (not to forget) the soul COMBINED Ė itís not only in the throat it takes place, but rather very much in the awareness of your mind and how you utilize that awareness to EXPLORE and use the SPACE of your INNER body to resound your voice.

Having the voice as your expression can be more than 'just' singing; it can also work as an opportunity to gain some FOCUSED, PEACEFUL and REJUVENATING TIME to yourself, and to attain both CONFIDENCE which feeds into the rest of your everyday life as well as general well-being.

In my belief we are all unique and I therefore provide a method and style of teaching that is PERSONAL where I strive to help you bring out YOUR HEALTHY voice which already is present in you, but which you might not be sure how to find, connect with or express.

My understanding of singing and voice use is strongly influenced by movement orientated arts and therapies such as Feldenkrais, Yoga and Pilates and the soothing Indian Dhrupad music and training. From these (and many more) influences I have gathered a set of imaginative teaching tools that allows an easier access to a HEALTHY and EFFORTLESS voice and SINGING that comes from the INSIDE and feels HEALING and RELAXING. All the principles behind my teaching is circling around finding the healthiest and most effortless way for YOU to sing and feel inspiringly stimulated, and not the least; to help you find a way to recharge your batteries and relax in a busy everyday life.

Most of us speak effortlessly with a healthy and natural speaking voice Ė my method of teaching is based on helping to show the student that their NATURAL and OPEN speaking voice also is their foundation for their singing voice. As soon as we realize that, we also understand how much EASIER singing can be, because we understand that we donít need to do any striving changes to our voice when singing, but actually rather try to keep our voice as natural as it is when SPEAKING.

Within my teaching I put emphasis on covering areas as breathing and endurance, projection and range, phrasing and pitch control, improvisation and idea development.
