Russ Davies Music Schools are the longest serving instrumental tuition service in the Plymouth -South Hams area. We started teaching in 1991. We operate out of two establishments ,one situated in Hawthorne House Ivybridge and the second is based in Salisbury Road St Judes Plymouth.
We have one of the finest records in the country for exam passes . it currently stands at 2240 students passed during the last 16 years.
We specialise in Drumkit -electric guitar -acoustic guitar-classical guitar- bass guitar- piano and keyboard tuition. We also offer theory lessons for those students who need to advance up the grade exam ladder.
We use the following Music College grade exams. Trinity Guildhall, London Rock School and London College. We teach from beginners to advanced diploma standards.
Our Exam results are one of the best in the country.Over 2000 passes no fails.
The grade exam system is only used if the student requires it. For the student who wants to learn purely for fun we teach all styles and all ages.

All our teachers are professional and work in schools during the day as well as the studios in the evening.All teaching staff are CRB CHECKED.

Lessons are given in a very relaxed but informed manner and geared to the individual students requirements. All students are introduced to music reading from the outset and wether you need tablature or actual music scores these are all on offer.

Our objective is to give the student young or old an enjoyable experience in the world of music and instil in them a love of their instrument and enable them to enjoy playing for pleasure or professionally for the rest of their lives.
