Biography

The most important part of my teaching approach is that the student only learns what they want to play. All song sheets for tuned instruments are personally created and course notes are only used where applicable. Percussion courses are comprehensive and ensure that the student is able to understand how rhythms are formed as opposed to copying and repeating the same rhythms over and over.

Costs are kept down for guitar students if they wish to use free downloadable music and for drummers I usually either use only one course book or offer the Rock School exam system (taken in Llanelli). Pianists have a more difficult job as the music which is purchased tends to follow one particular style. I do offer different musical and written styles for pianists and provide my own handwritten or computer generated music.
