Biography

I began playing the piano at the age of 5 and quickly developed a love of music. I began performing on the piano at the age of 8 in the Darlington area and have performed here many times over the years. At the age of 16 I started St Mary's Music School, Edinburgh, where I studied piano, violin and flute. During this time I performed frequently as a soloist, accompanist, member of a chamber ensemble and as an orchestral member. I also began teaching piano and violin to children who came into the school for music lessons.
I then studied piano with Sarah-Beth Briggs at the University of York. During this time I taught piano to a number of students and also carried out workshops within school.
After university I worked as a General Teaching Assistant where I gained experience in teaching music to a class. I also developed the singing within the school and the school choir came second in a music festival. As I was living at home again I was able to take on a number of piano and violin pupils who continued to study with me for the next 4 years.
I moved to Plymouth at Christmas due to personal commitments and am looking to continue teaching the piano and violin whilst working as a full time primary school teacher. I would also welcome the opportunity to perform in both a concert setting and at functions such as weddings and coorporate events.
