Teaching is my biggest passion outside of live performance. I currently teach from my studio just outside of Goring, Berkshire and am always looking for new students to introduce to music, drumming...and Rush. Lessons are at a professional level and I'd like to think a competitive rate!
Lessons will be tailored to suit you, from a mixture of my own syllabus and contemporary 'classic' texts. Beginners are most definitely welcome...the untainted are a brilliant blank canvas!
I have experience in teaching students from aged seven to 40+, but younger and older students are more than welcome of course! I've worked with SCAMPS in the past, teaching at primary schools across the south, so have plenty of experience teaching youngsters. There is also a comfy sofa for mum or dad!
I also teach key skills band studies at The Goodhall Guitar School
Lessons will cover all major aspects of technique, performance and theory, as well as 'musical etiquette' learnt from the road. I've made the mistakes so you don't!
If you don't want to learn to sight read we don't have to, but I am fully capable to do so and it isn't as hard as you would think!
All major styles covered including: Rock, Pop, Metal, Funk, Latin, and anything you want to be able to play!
Other aspects include:
Sight Reading
Study of Rudiments
Linear Grooves
Moeller Technique
Finger Technique
Double Bass Drumming
Theory and Applied Harmony
Session Styles
Aural Perception
...and a lot more.
Lessons will be conducted at my house mainly on a state-of-the-aryt Roland TD-12 Electronic kit, with an acoustic kit used for select lessons.
My rates are as follows:
30 mins: £15
60 mins: £25
Discounts on block bookings also apply.
