Biography
I have been singing since the age of three, performing professionally since the age of 12, and teaching singing for over 25 years.
I have been fortunate enough to have had a very successful performing and recording career, including concert performances at The London Palladium and Blenhaim Palace, plus West End appearances, recording deals, TV, radio, touring and more.
These days I am kept busy in my role as Principal of VIDLA, which is an academy training singers and singing teachers. We have extensive industry contacts and work in close partnership with both The Modern Vocalist (www.themodernvocalts.com) and The Vocal Tutor Network (www.vocaltutor.co.uk). The academy's patron is world-reknowned vocal coach Dena Murray.
My teaching career began in South East London where I ran a hugely successful private practice, working for a time as a vocal consultant to E.M.I. Records. I have lectured and / or mentored in a variety of dedicated music and drama colleges, including The Musicians’ Institute, London (now Vocal-Tech), Dartington College of Arts, The Birmingham Theatre School (where I was Head of Singing for 8 years), and a wide variety of FE /HE colleges, working as a feelamce practitioner.
My Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees are both in the field of Contemporary Vocals, and my PhD is in Music Education.
I love to teach, whether it's complete beginners or highly experienced professionals. Do come and see me for a consultation!
