Biography

Liz is an experienced woodwind tutor, on saxophone, clarinet, flute and recorder, teaching privately and as a peripatetic within schools. She teaches students at all levels, from beginners to advanced.

As a performer, Liz is a member of Radio 4 favourites The Voodoo Trombone Quartet, and up and coming ska band Popes of Chillitown. She is a veteran on the festival scene, regularly seen at Glastonbury and Secret Garden Party. She also performs on the Jazz and Big Band circuits in Cambridge and London.

If you've always wanted to learn an instrument, or you've not played since school and want to pick it up again, Liz's relaxed teaching style will help you build your confidence, and get you playing the music you want to play.

Liz can also help you with jazz harmony and improvisation. If you want to learn to jam and improvise, but feel your lack of theory is holding you back, she can set you on the right track, building confidence and musicianship.

Liz has a 100% pass rate with the ABRSM exams, and is familiar with both the Jazz and Classical syllabus.
