Biography

Jay de Cock studied Piano Performing with Catharina Struthers and Harpsichord with Boudewijn Scholten (a pupil of Gustav Leonhardt) at the University of Stellenbosch from 1994 - 1996. He made his concerto debut at the City Hall in Cape Town in 1996, playing Liszt's Totentanz , performing for many years in South Africa as a solo pianist, chamber musician and accompanist, until he moved permanently to the UK in October 2000.

Since moving to London, Jay has performed as a solo classical pianst at venues such as Chichester Cathedral, and in London at St-Sepulchre-without-Newgate, and St Ethelburga's Centre for Peace and Reconcilliation in Bishopsgate. As an accompanist he has appeared at Pizza on the Park, the London Arena, the Richmond Concert Society, Bartok in Camden, the Battersea Barge, the Soho Actors' Centre, the Leytonstone Festival, Popshow at the Soho Review Bar, and for many ABRSM exams at their London centre.
