Jay has given piano lessons to my son, George, for the past 3 years, since he was 5 years old. His teaching style is both unique and inspirational. He introduced George to many styles of music, listening, playing, and even writing music. Jay has a wonderful relaxed and happy approach to his teaching, and has given George the confidence, the tools and the enthusiasm to enjoy and continue playing. We will miss Jay enormously as he is a very special and talented teacher. Thank you for all your lovely work, especially writing music especially for George, and the special recordings of his music that you did with him. They will be treasured always.

Jay is so enthusiastic and has introduced me to composers and compositions that I would never have sought out on my own. He breathes life into boring pieces and my repertoire became so varied to include classical, jazz and blues. Jay’s boundless enthusiasm is infectious and I have never been so inspired by any other teacher in the past. Sometimes when he said the two hours were up I thought only one hour had passed!
