Mr Christopher Wolfe

I am a recent addition to Bedfordshire from the USA. I have been playing viola since I was 11 years old and composing music from 14. Throughout my upper-school education, I studied viola from Kenneth Kwo of the Florida Orchestra. I then attended the University of Miami where I studied viola under Pamela McConnell of the Bergonzi String Quartet. I also studied music theory and composition primarily under Dr. Robert Gower, but also under Dr. Fred DeSena, Dr. Paul Wilson, and Dr. Dennis Kam.<br />
I am currently a member of ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.<br />

Florida State University Symphony - Directed by Phil Spurgeon. I also had the pleasure of working with the late Robert Shaw in performing the Brahms Requiem. <br />

My composition background includes composing music for film and TV at the University of Miami. I also composed music for "The Other Music Ensemble" which was the group at the University of Miami that premiered new compositions by students. I have also written music extensively for education and have had works performed by the Gaither High School Orchestra in Tampa, Florida.<br />
<br />
Outside of performance, I am also an experienced public school music teacher. I began teaching in early 2002 and I have gained experience with a very wide variety of children. The highlights of my teaching experience include the following:<br />

Teaching general music to kids aged 5 to 13<br />
<br />
Starting and running a begining string orchestra, including handling the finances of the programme.<br />
<br />
Directing school choirs to top quality competitive level.<br />
<br />
Working with a wide range of mental handicaps including autism, emotional disbilities, and physical disabilities. <br />
<br />
<br />
In 2005, I earned my master of music education degree from the University of Miami where I studied music education under Dr. Joyce Jordan and Dr. Stephen Zdzinsky, both well known in the field of music education. Focuses of my training include the following:<br />
