Biography
I began learning the piano and trombone at an early age, achieveing grade 8 performance on piano with LCM and ABRSM at 14. Unfortunately missing out on the ALCM before starting work which put paino music on the back burner.
I initially trained as a retail manager but decided the work was not for me, resigned and joined the Royal Navy spending 22 years as a logisitician. Once again the piano had to take a back seat while the trombone became the backbone of my music education and performance, howver I did manage to play keyboard often on HM Ships at church services.
During my time in the RN I undertook various educational qualifications including my degree through the OU.
On leaving the RN I studied for a PGCE(S) at Durham University and after a short interval gained employment as a music teacher at the David Young Academy, Seacroft, Leeds. For the econd time in my life, after 2 1/2 years, I decided I was not suitable to the job and resigned, setting up my own private practice in 2010.
I have joined the Yorkshire Volunteers wind band on bass trombone and as a bass with the Micklefield Male Voice Choir.
