I have been part of a full symphony orchestra touring europe, a cello ensemble, string orchestra, various professional quartets, a professional string trio, folk band, acoustic band and play regularly in the orchestral pit for musicals in the North Devon Theatres on cello as well as previously playing in various rock bands on guitar. I have taught cello and double bass for Devon County Council in schools around North Devon including a junior music centre since 2002 and am now teaching pupils privately as well as within schools on a self employed basis. I have started up a "cello group" at West Buckland School, a private school I currently teach in, to promote cello playing and hope for similar things in other local schools. My youngest pupil started at 4 years old on piano and 5 on cello, the most mature being 55 on cello, and I am willing to teach any age as I believe it is never too late to start. I will enter for Associated board exams or will teach just for fun! I am enthusiastic about music and currently have instruments available for hire if required.
