Biography

In 2011, my main musical activities continue to be giving guitar lessons and studying, performing and composing classical guitar music. I also now sing as a tenor with the Bournemouth Symphony Chorus.

I draw from many valuable and varied musical experiences, going right back to the age of four: I've sung or played the guitar, keyboards and (as a child) violin in various bands, orchestras, duos and ensembles; performed regular headline solo gigs as a singer/songwriter; recorded four albums of my songs between 1999 and 2006; and was a singer, keyboard player and songwriter with 'neo-progressive' rock bands Rook and Kick in the 1990s.

I still give the occasional performance as singer/songwriter, but over the last decade I have increasingly specialised in classical (nylon-string) guitar instrumental pieces. I perform regularly in Dorset and am also in regular demand as a guitar tutor. I hope that, by all my musical activities, I encourage people to discover that playing and performing on guitar can be as rewarding as listening to someone else do it!
