Biography

I am an experienced and passionate guitar player and really enjoy teaching. Over the years I have played in many different styles and I am confident that no matter what style you wish to play I can help you to achieve your goals through developing good technique and learning about musicianship. I hope that my love of the instrument and of music in general can help to inspire you to work hard and soon see the improvements in your playing.






I currently write and perform in a soul pop band called The Resplendents and I am studying jazz with Pete Sklaroff at Leeds College of Music. I am also studying for an MA in Community Music at York (2007) so I am also a practitioner of other musical projects in schools, youth groups and hospitals including songwriting, recording sessions, African drumming and general entertainment or performance.



My teaching styles and materials are adaptable to any student. I teach students from 6 to 70 and at varying levels of ability. As well as one to one tuition, I also offer group classes which are very competitively priced. These are ideal for school friends of similar standards to learn together and are generally a great form of peer support, especially in the earlier stages of learning the guitar.
