Maki has started playing the violin at a very early age with the Suzuki Method.<br />
After graduating the Kyoto Music High School with First Class, Maki moved to London to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.<br />
During her time at the GSMD for BMus and MMus, she had performed solo recitals and chamber music concerts in Europe and Japan.<br />
After completing a chamber music postgraduate course with full scholarship at the GSMD, Maki once returned to Japan to play in Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra as its opening member.<br />
In Japan, she appeared in major concert halls as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player. Her concerts were broadcast by the NHK and numerous favourable reviews had followed.<br />

Maki is currently living in London and working as a violin teacher and a freelance player.
