Biography:

Neil has been a full time drum tutor for twelve years & takes pride in being an inspiration to the students that he teaches. As well as a full time tutor, Neil is also an active musician, gigging frequently for several acts, which means his students are taught all the skills needed to play in a band & are given invaluable inspiration.

Having played literally thousands of gigs, Neil still frequently tours the UK, and has played many famous venues including Glastonbury Festival (taking to the Dance stage after Radio One’s Annie Mac) and The Royal Festival Hall (headlining the London Jazz Festival). One of the acts Neil plays for has achieved a number one slot at beatsdigital.com and number two at djdownload.com.

Neil also programs and produces music in the studio, completing remixes for the likes of Columbia’s new signings, ’Goodbooks’ and the incredibly cool Norwegian band ‘Datarock’. Neil has contributed to tracks featured on video games such as 'MotoGP' (XBox 360) and 'Juiced' (PSP) as well as being played on Radio One and XFM;

Lessons:

Neil has twelve years professional teaching experience ranging from one-to-one lessons to group tuition with students of all ages and abilities. He currently has a timetable of approximately 50 students, taught privately and in schools, including two specialist music schools – Bishop David Brown School in Woking, and Glenthorne High School in Sutton.

Neil actively encourages students to study for and enter examinations, for which they have achieved a 100% pass rate, and has himself passed Grade Eight Drum Kit with High Honours many years ago. Students are also encouraged to play with other musicians & to form a band, which is often the primary reason for their wanting to start playing the drums.

To aid all students, Neil has written an extensive teaching syllabus tailored to the Rockschool and Trinity Guildhall’s graded examinations. Out of school tuition is provided at his specially converted studio in Farnham, in which students benefit from a huge range of teaching resources, including a wide range of books and music, the latest Roland V-Drums, high end studio sound system and acoustically treated walls.
