Providing tight grooves and a great sound I have has established my-self as a well known bass player in London and the south coast of England.

I started playing bass in 1999 and over the years my bass playing has remained a solid backline for many bands. I am fluent in many styles of music but I feel work best with funk, soul & rock music. My main influences are the chilli peppers, The Meters, Soulive, James Brown, Tower of Power and a lot of Motown.

After leaving school I went to Weymouth collage to study Btech National Diploma in contemporary popular music, whist studying there I won the award for the most improved student 2002/2003. Also at collage I obtained my ABRAM grade 5 music theory, and my Rockschool grade A bass-playing certificate. I then moved to Guildford to study a higher national diploma in bass guitar and continue on at the ACM to study a Ba Hons in contemporary popular music. In between my degree I was teaching peripatetically at All saints school in Weymouth. Since completing my degree I have continued living in Guildford and travelled back to Weymouth. This is proving too expensive and time consuming. I loved teaching at the school in Weymouth. I had built up a good teacher/ student relationship with the kids but I had to leave as travelling from surrey to Dorset each week was not financially viable. My experience at All Saints was very valuable. I learnt how construct lessons and how to make the student progress whilst enjoying and having fun in music which I believe strongly this is what music is about, having fun.

Whilst studying at ACM my bass playing has remained a solid backline for many bands. I have played with a professional level of functions bands, playing a variety of local and International venues ranging from pubs/clubs to large functions. Playing for funk/soul function band Betamax, a Madness Tribute band called One Step Behind, and a funk function band, The Funk Federation. The most noticeable recent gig took place in Israel in the royal beach hotel with The Funk Federation. As part of the 5 star hotels entertainment we played 22 nights in a row. I also toured the showcase circuit in London playing showcases for Warner Bros and EMI record labels with singer/songwriter Rachel Mari Kimber (www.rachelmarikimber.com). I also remain to be a key member in a young energetic blues/funk band called Uncle Junior (www.myspace.com/unclejuniormusic) in which we have just recorded our first ep. We play all over London and surrey area.I am currently playing for an artist called Ellie Lawson (www.myspace.com/ellielawson) we have several showcases for major record labels lined up and gigs all of the U.K.
