Biography

Jerry Bird was born in Bath and now lives near Dorchester, Dorset.

He is an accomplished musician and has played folk music both solo and in various bands for many years. He is currently in a traditional folk duo with award-winning James Findlay, and also plays with Clive Whitburn in the folk-rock duo 5th Quarter. He plays guitar, fiddle and various other stringed instruments.

Jerry is available for solo performances and often plays at wedding banquets and similar functions. He also performs as the medieval minstrel Gerald of Weston.

He is also a writer on folklore and related subjects. His latest book 'Landscape of Memory' was published in 2009. He is the editor of Merry Meet Magazine, now in its tenth year of publication.
