Biography

Jennifer started learning the Cello at 8, taking up the Double Bass at 15 and gaining Grade 8 distinction two years later. After reading Music at Huddersfield University she continued her studies at the Royal Northern College of Music. Jennifer has freelanced as a Bassist with various orchestras including RLPO, Manchester Camerata, SinfoniaViVA, English National Ballet and English Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed twice as concerto soloist with orchestras. Regularly playing in shows and being guest principal Bass in orchestras around West Yorkshire, Jennifer still finds time to teach lower strings, as well as being a member of the Musica Viva Quartet. She has been Principal Bass with the Slaithwaite Philharmonic since 1998.
