Biography

I’m a drummer and freelance musician currently based in Brighton. Born of two music lovers and players in their own right, the wide range of gigs I was taken to as a child inspired a love of music indiscriminate of genres. My listening and playing experience covers styles from traditional folk all the way through the indie spectrum to progressive electronica and dance music.

At a young age I was introduced by my Dad to the art of ‘knee-drumming’ and shown my first chords on a guitar (once my fingers could stretch far enough!) – seemingly insignificant events that ended up being life changing. At secondary school I finally got to study drums properly under the guidance of Ben Twyford, getting my own kit a year later and spending every spare minute sat behind it, a habit that lives on…

From my mid-teens I developed a love for writing, performing, recording and producing songs of my own. This love was cultivated and diversified further by three years studying Creative Music Technology. This course enabled me to gain experience in areas from engineering (both live and in the studio), to performing, composing/songwriting and producing – all things I now do in a professional capacity.

As a drummer I’ve guested on a number of artists’ work in the last few years, alongside backing a variety of bands live in nationwide gigs of various sizes. I’ve also played bass and sung for a number of bands, both live and in the studio. As well as performance, I also have a busy roster of teaching clients of all abilities. Outside of music, I like to surf and find it an endless source of creative inspiration as well as the perfect way to wind down and stay healthy.

Overall I’m a conscientious music professional with an easygoing personality and a positive outlook, an ear for the fine details and a passion for making music to the highest standard.
