During his time at the RNCM, he regularly appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in concerts both at college and venues in and around Manchester. It is since graduating however that Mikhail has established himself as a busy performer giving recitals at venues incuding Bath Guildhall, Camerton Guildhall, Kensington Roof Gardens, Stoneaston Manor, Glastonbury Festival & St. Swithun’s Bathford. He played at the latter venue as a part of the annual Bathford Festival in 2008 and subsequently was asked to return and play for the festival in 2009 and 2010. In March 2010 he played a recital at the Bath Pump Rooms for the Bath Recital Artists’ trust.
He also has extensive experience as a chamber musician. He has collaborated with other guitarists, violinists, flautists and singers. He performed J.W. Duarte’s Five Quiet Songs at the RNCM faculty concert in 2008 with tenor Brian Walters, which received a positive review from “Classical Guitar” magazine, “These songs were a fruitful display of both the Guitarist’s and the Singer’s talents” Paul Fowles.
Mikhail’s talents also cover a wide range of guitar styles, in January 2010 he formed the acoustic act “The Showhawk Duo” with friend and fellow guitarist Jake Wright. The fusion of a classical guitarist and a hard rock specialist produces an extraordinary sound, blending elements of numerous different styles from gypsy jazz to pop to classical. They have played many shows in the short time they have been together and their first C.D. “Borealis” has been met with universal appraise.
