Biography
I have been playing the piano since the age of eight. I studied at Wells Cathedral School under Michael Young and went on to read Music at Kingston University.
Until very recently I had a thriving private practice in Nantwich with a broad cross section of pupils, both children and adults, teaching Piano and Music Theory. Having moved to Wilmslow in the summer of 2011 I am looking to expand my teaching activities in this area
At the piano I have established myself as an experienced soloist and accompanist. I often perform differing styles with other soloists, choirs and orchestras throughout the region, from recitals to chamber works to concertos.
Recent collaborations include working with the flautist Russell Gillespie, mezzo Judith Tinston and soprano Gemma Robertson. I am a regular performer at the Lunch Time Recital series held at St Mary’s Parish Church, Nantwich. I am also the accompanist for South Cheshire Young Musicians (www.scym.co.uk) and Amici Choir and Orchestra. Prestbury Choral Society and Bollington Festival have also recently been on the receiving end of his accompanying skills.
My most recent venture is the creation, with the pianist Wendy Dolby, of the Piano Duo Dolby and Hughes. (www.dolbyandhughes.co.uk)
