Biography

I have been playing the piano since I was 4 years old, I began with a local teacher and, after reaching ABRSM grade 8 continued my studies with a Piano Teacher from Chethams in Manchester.

At 18 I went to music college and studied piano with Ian Buckle alongside taking masterclasses with some of the worlds best teachers such as Peter Lawson from the Royal Northern College of Music.

Since graduating Music College in 2000 I briefly left the music profession before returning to teaching after having my son in 2006 (followed by my daughter in 2010).

I now focus on the teaching of young beginners and am currently writing and publishing my own music course designed specifically for young children.

As an accompanist I love to help candidates through their graded exams/festival performances. I hope to provide a friendly face during the exam to help put them at ease and hopefully achieve the best results.

Finally, I run an intensive Grade 5 theory course designed to help those who have had very little theory tuition pass the all important Grade 5 ABRSM theory exam.
