Biography
I have had a passion for music since pestering my parents as a young girl to take me for piano lessons. They finally relented when I was six years old, and music has been an important part of my life ever since.
I excelled particularly at the piano, though also play the guitar & clarinet, and am an accomplished singer.
I love all kinds of music, from classical to jazz, reggae to pop, and easy listening to Christain music. Over the last few years, I have written more than 400 worship songs, and recorded five CD's.I love to perform myself, and played in cafe bars in Manchester when I was a poor medical student. When I was 24, I played Mozart's Piano Concerto in C major with the hospital orchestra where I was working as a GP trainee. In 2008, I was part of an 18-piece band playing for 'CATS' at the Civic Theatre, Invercargill, New Zealand.I have been a worship leader for eight years, since becoming a Christian in a very dramatic conversion! I have been teaching in earnest since 2006, and have found it to be something I absolutely love to do. It is always such a thrill to bring music into someone else's life, and I consider it an absolute privilege to have been given the skills needed for this. In July 2008, I returned to the UK after seven years living in New Zealand, and have been building up a strong pupil base in Chester. I work as a music co-ordinator at Bishops High School,Chester, where I am also the accompanist for the school choir. I accompany pupils in their ABRSM exams. I have recently started teaching piano at Chester Music School.
