Biography
His musical career path is one of those less usual stories following an unconsummated spell as an art student to become a musician.
Began as self-taught flautist but later received private tuition which enriched interest in classical repetoire. Developed interest in jazz, rock and folk through playing saxophone and flute in wide variety of bands and musical events.
After a decade as a semi-pro musician joined the eclectic world of Dartington College of Arts as a mature student where studies included composition, analysis and aesthetics, and exploration of non-western musics. Graduated in 1984 with a BA(Hons) degree.
Since then ventures in composition/performance have included dance and theatre events and own jazz-fusion band started in year 2000. This enriched and broadened his scope as a mature player, composer and teacher to influence and inspire students and audiences alike.
Enhanced musical skills further in 2006 at Deep Blue Sound Studios completing a B Tech. diploma course in sound engineering and music technology.
At present composing many works in the jazz genre, with sourjons into folk, electronica and ambient. Now has recorded tracks available through CDBaby digital distribution,iTunes, Amazon, etc.
