Biography

Thom has been avidly drumming and writing music for eight years, beginning his formal training with Andrew Leask and studying music at school and college before taking the Higher Diploma and BA Hons Degree courses in drumming at the ACM, Guildford. Thom is in his fourth year of teaching the drums, at Strode’s College, Egham, and privately, and has both recorded and played live with a number of bands and projects through a multitude of styles, including: Headroom (rock), Five Pence Bribe (ska/funk), the Patrick Johnson Quartet (jazz), the London Philharmonic Orchestra (classical/experimental), Zion & The White Boys (reggae/r&b), Rainbow Rhythms (folk), Wildeflower (psychedelic/folk) and Stereo:Soul (electronic/fusion). Thom is a session performer and has played on over seventy recordings, and also DJs and organises events to raise money for various charities with ALAN (www.wearealan.com). Thom is also currently working with Matt Black of Coldcut on a collaborative jam project and is the in-house drummer for Spacelab/Ninja Tune.
