John’s (aged 23) music career started from the age of 6 and has led to a huge variety of performances in many prestigious venues such as The Wycombe Swan, NEC Birmingham to The Barbican and Royal Albert Hall and has performed on tour, outside the UK in numerous ensembles. He specialises in contemporary classical and modern jazz on the saxophone but his career has also seen him performing many vocal roles as lead tenor in Kingston University’s Chorus and Chamber Choir. John has fast progressed through his performance grades at an early age, which then led to him graduating in January 2009 with a Bachelor of Music (Hons) from Kingston University.
John has a passion for conducting music and has conducted ensembles from across the Home Counties including the 2nd Hook Scout Band in several public concerts and Kingston University’s Chorus. His talents also lie within the composition world and he specialises in writing music for film and television; his scores have seen many public performances including an early piece chosen as part of the repertoire for Southampton Symphony Orchestra’s very own Kokoro string quartet.
John continues to enjoy performing on his saxophone whilst teaching the subject along with theory of music. John will be taking his film music studies, at master’s level, to America sometime in the near future
