Teaching Experience
I am an experienced teacher - have been teaching for 4 years and began my career as a freelance peripatetic teacher for Nottingham City Music Service in the East Midlands and Coventry Performing Arts Service in the West Midlands. This involved teaching individuals and groups in economically deprived inner city schools to play clarinet, saxophone and flute. I also taught saxophone, composition and piano privately. I then moved back to Herefordshire to work as a project manager for community music charity the Music Pool which promotes and delivers music inclusively through participatory music activities for all ages and ability. As a project manager for the Youth Music Action Zone I set up projects out of school time for young people aged between 0-25. I also taught privately from home, working with adults of varying abilities and delivering saxophone ensemble classes. I then spent six months working for Close House Youth Projects and during my time at Close House youth centre I supported young people through vocal work and keyboard to learn songs and take part in their annual concert.
In 2011 I worked as an accredited teacher with Herefordshire Music Service, teaching Saxophone lessons and clarinet lessons at St Marys and Aylestone school in Hereford
