"Learning HOW to Play Guitar" puts the emphasis on HOW. Topics covered include open and closed chords, some basic music theory and chord structure, playing lead guitar, reading music, understanding tabs, scales. (We can even cover a bit about the mathematics and physics behind music if you're interested!) Most important of all, students are taught how to make up chord sequences to songs they know which is one of the things that playing guitar is all about. The course topics included are tailored to the needs and preferences of the student. For example if you don't want to learn to read music or tabs, these topics are omitted; if you want to play classical guitar, we cover it - if not we don't. After all, it's YOUR course and YOU are paying - so let's try to give you what YOU want from it. A summary of the contents can be found on my pennylandmusic.com web site. |
