Biography
Kerry Hodgkin has been a professional singer for over 2 decades. She works primarily in jazz/swing/blues/soul, however she also does some cabaret/musical theatre work. She is a trained actress and her performance experience includes live work, TV, radio, session vocals and she is also a 33 Jazz Records recording artiste, with 2 album releases to her credit. Kerry works with many of the top jazz/blues musicians in the UK and has appeared at venues ranging from the National Theatre, Royal Festival Hall and Ronnie Scott's in London to Birdland and BB Kings in New York.
Kerry is also a very experienced teacher, having taught at various establishments over the years including the Musicians' Institute in London. She currently teaches at Bedford Modern School (since 2003) and has her own private teaching practice.
Since 2008 Kerry has been studying the Estill Model vocal technique which has revolutionised vocal teaching over the past 25 years. Kerry has completed Levels 1 & 2 in the Estill Model and Advanced Level 3. She is now working towards becoming an Estill Certified Masters Teacher, studying with the UK's leading exponent of the Method Anne-Marie Speed (trained and Mentored by Jo Estill herself).
