I am a highly enthusiastic and motivated pianist, accompanist and piano teacher, with a vast amount of performing and teaching experience. I offer tuition in the Leeds area to adults and children of all ages, from beginners to post-grade 8 and diploma level. I constantly aim to provide tailored lessons designed to meet the students’ diverse needs, whilst expanding their musical imagination.
I have a Masters degree in Music Performance and a Bachelors degree in Music Studies, and still study and perform new repertoire on a regular basis. I am compassionate and inspiring, with an excellent knowledge of modern teaching methods; helping to provide a well-rounded, enjoyable musical education. I have first-class organisational and interpersonal skills, essential for cultivating a strong relationship with teachers, parents and students.
As well as working from home I teach in a number of primary schools around the Leeds area and am currently providing tuition to junior and senior students at Fulneck school. In the past I have also provided tuition to some second-study undergraduate students at the University of Leeds.
All lessons are given on a brand new grand piano, in a warm and welcoming environment. I provide a progress report for all students offering a holistic view of pupils’ progress and achievements, which I find is particularly useful for the parents or guardians of students receiving tuition.
Before students commit to lessons I offer a consultation lesson to find out the aims and goals of individuals and to ensure they feel comfortable before commencing with tuition. I am able to enter students for ABRSM piano exams if desired, and always receive excellent results. Although exams provide a useful goal and a great sense of achievement, participation is completely voluntary.
