Notes:

I am an experienced piano teacher of children and adults, from beginners to advanced players. I also offer musicianship lessons (incorporating music theory). I teach in Stoke Newington or can offer lessons online.

Ethos

I provide my students with sound, healthy technical foundations so that they are able to express their musical intentions at the piano with ease. I place a strong emphasis on learning how to practice effectively so that my students develop the tools they need to be independent learners.

My teaching is grounded in the belief that it is important for pianists to develop as well rounded musicians. Aural, theory and musicianship skills are integrated into my lessons and I help students make connections between these different areas.

I compose bespoke pieces to address my students technical needs, as necessary, and I encourage students themselves to compose and improvise in order to deepen their understanding of theory and style in a practical way.
