Teaching has always been a central part of my life and it gives me great pleasure to help people of all ages and learning stages to unlock their capabilities whilst developing a passion for music.

I am a qualified secondary school Music teacher and have taught in a number of contrasting schools and educational settings both as a classroom music teacher and as a peripatetic teacher.

At present I provide peripatetic flute and singing lessons in primary and secondary schools across Bucks and teach privately from my home. I have extensive experience of preparing students for ABRSM practical and theory examinations, GCSE and A-Level exams and recitals, and university auditions. I tailor my lessons to suit the musical interests and requirements of the individual student.

Above all, I believe that music is an invaluable asset which fosters independent learning skills and creativity and encourages collaboration between peers, teachers and parents, and I strive to promote a life-long love of musical enjoyment and appreciation through weekly tuition.

In my free time I sing in OSJ Ashmolean Voices, Oxford, and perform regularly with The Orchestra of St Johns. I also sing in Intermezzo, Oxford, a vacation choir which focuses on the works of modern composers, and a local a cappella early music ensemble, Aylesbury Consort of Voices. In addition to singing I play the flute in a small avant-garde ensemble, I regularly play in orchestras for shows at Pendley Court Theatre and I enjoy composing and arranging pieces for my school ensembles.
