I have been teaching piano privately for 6 years. I offer fun and motivating lessons that encourage creativity and expression. I have studied with experienced classical and jazz pianists (Kate Miller, Craig Milverton) and I offer training in a number of genres including classical, jazz, funk, and musical theatre. (For recordings of my playing, see the "Multimedia" tab above). I have enormous passion for playing the piano, above all I believe that enjoying the experience of playing is the most important part of piano playing and I hope that this is something you will take away from my lessons.

I am a highly skilled, versatile and experienced accompanist. My recent professional experience includes work for The Royal Opera House, The Actors' Workshop and The Dunsford Singers. I played for weekly rehearsals with The Dunsford Singers for one and a half years. I worked on a variety of repertoire with them, including the Vivaldi Gloria, Lauridsenís O Magnum Mysterium, and selections from the European Sacred Music book, Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, and the film Mamma Mia. My ongoing work for The Actors' Workshop includes yearly professional performances at The Tobacco Factory in Bristol. I have experience of giving performances with minimal rehearsal and I understand the role of an accompanist extremely well.

Piano playing experience:
I have been studying piano for 16 years. I am currently studying for a Masters Degree in Composition at Bristol University. I have given classical recitals in Florence, London, and numerous venues in Bristol. I placed second in the Advanced III category of the national EPTA piano competition in 2012. While at university I played with the Exeter University Jazz Orchestra as principal pianist for 2 years and more recently I have gained experience of playing jazz professionally with the band Orlata. I have performed upstairs at the famous jazz club Ronnie Scottís and I have also performed in the Northcott and Barnfield Theatres in Exeter, including playing keyboards for the show Evita and leading the keyboard section in a production of The Phantom of the Opera. I also have experience of composing music professionally.
