A former Royal College of Music Senior Exhibitioner, Trinity College of Music Junior Exhibitioner, Adrian Boult Scholar at Westminster School with a First Class music performance component of an undergraduate degree from York University and performance prize, I have worked in music performance and music education since 1990 for a variety of clients including the Royal Academy of Dancing, the Royal Ballet School, the Royal Hospital Chelsea, Northampton University, Music in Offices, Chelsea Festival, Bampton Opera, Co-Opera Co, Medici Choir, Brandenburg Festival, Johnny Barran Entertainment, Rebel Chorus, and in schools and colleges at Primary, Secondary and Tertiary level, for private clients, and for various other festivals and performance venues including at the Edinburgh International Festival, Edinburgh Fringe, Mitte Europa Festival, in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Germany, Spain, Czech Republic and Israel. Presently, I am the Organist at St Mary's Clapham, Director of Music at St Michael's Stockwell, Acting Music Director at Medici Choir and a composer at Basstone Music, an affiliate of Warner Chappell.
I offer singing lessons to men and women keen to develop their classical voice, improve breathing and posture, and develop their musicianship through studying the appropriate repertoire. In addition, students who are learning Music Theatre are welcome and I can help with aspects of vocal production for other forms of singing including Gospel and Pop. A competent pianist, I am able to accompany for lessons and in auditions and exams.
Piano lessons are also available, and a particular speciality is the adult beginner or music industry professional looking to enhance their keyboard skills. Theory and general musicianship are introduced into lessons as is listening homework to develop musical understanding and the ear.
Based in Hindringham NR21, I'm available to teach at home most evenings Monday to Wednesday.
