My website can be found at https://www.drumlessonssurrey.com/
My Primary Skillset is drumming, specialising in funk, hip hop, rock and metal styles. However, I have been educated and am comfortable in all drum styles, such as jazz, reggae, pop etc. I also have vast experience using electronic drums, specifically Roland.
I am also adept with various percussion including Djembe and Cajon and I can also play Bass guitar, Ukulele and keyboard at a basic level.
I understand basic music theory and scored a perfect 100% in the music theory module during my degree. Along with this I have studied chart reading and drum kit sight reading at a degree level. All are skills that I apply to my teaching and writing/recording process.
I have several years of experience with 1 on 1 drum tutoring and completed an optional module during my degree on Education and training. My dissertation also focused on pedagogy as it was focused on Online Music Education’s impact on private music tutors.
As well as this my final degree project was a drum lesson video series which taught me how to prepare lesson material in an online format, record audio and video with correct lighting technique and video editing skills. These skills are continually used as I create fortnightly drum covers on my YouTube channel.
I also understand Audience and consumer psychology due to an optional module at university which is a skill I can use within music marketing, branding and even teaching.
During my Music Technology A-level and my time at university I developed knowledge of music production, recording, and how to use Cubase and logic to a basic level. I also have a deep understanding of music culture and the music industry due to specialised modules during my degree and am comfortable with music improvisation. I can also use Microsoft Office and Adobe Premiere.
